We have all been moved by the human catastrophe that has visited the country of Japan in recent weeks. Needless to say, the initial earthquake followed by the threat of deadly radiation have exacted an unbearable and miserable toll on the Japanese people. Even though we are miles away from the epicenter of the Japanese earthquake, and the eminent threat of radiation, the palpable suffering of the Japanese people reverberates world wide. We here at LinkUp Media Group of Companies feel duty-bound to assist the people of Japan. So, we have planned a charitable fund raising concert, dubbed "JAMROCK FOR JAPAN." This is our way of letting the Japanese people, and by extension the world, know that we stand together in time of distress, and we recognize that there is this common thread of humanity that binds us together as a people, whether we are right here in the United States or as far away as Japan. "American Idol" finalist Pia Toscano is on a high.
After weeks of expectedly performing ballads, the soaring 22-year-old songstress from Howard Beach, N.Y., earned praise from the Fox talent competition's judges for strutting around the stage while powering through Tina Turner's up-tempo tune "River Deep — Mountain High" on Wednesday's rock `n' roll edition. Toscano previously promised to sing that tune.
"Murderer! Murderer!" screamed "Idol" judge Steven Tyler. "Pia, you killed it."
Other singers who switched it up included 17-year-old high school student Scotty McCreery of Garner, N.C., and 22-year-old rocker James Durbin of Santa Cruz, Calif. Randy Jackson said he'd seen "a new Scotty" after McCreery jazzed up Elvis Presley's "That's All Right," while an emotional Durbin slowed down on George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."
"It's good to see that not only did your guitar gently weep, but so did you," said Tyler.
Jacob Lusk, the 23-year-old spa concierge of Compton, Calif., stayed true to his gospel roots, replacing his planned performance of Marvin Gaye's sexually charged "Let's Get It On" to Michael Jackson's inspirational "Man in the Mirror." The judges commended his decision to stay true to his moral conviction. Jennifer Lopez called Lusk's performance "perfect."
Lauren Alaina seemed to impress with Aretha Franklin's "Natural Woman," but Jackson noted that the 16-year-old high school student of Rossville, Ga., "only took a very difficult song and did a good job." He also proclaimed that 21-year-old singer Stefano Langone of Kent, Wash., got off to "a jerky start" with Percy Sledge's "When a Man Loves a Woman."

In an interview on the Cipha Sounds and Pete Rosenberg podcast Juan Epstein, Jay-Z admitted that he had dancehall star Vybz Kartel in the studio during the recording of his last album Blueprint 3 but failed to get a song that worked.

Reggae superstar Sean Paul won't be feuding with Jay-Z, at least for now.
Paul is denying reports that he has plans to release a book detailing an alleged relationship with Hov's wife, R&B singer Beyoncé. The book -- a chronicle of his life growing up in middle-class Jamaica -- is rumored to expose the tryst that occurred while the 'I Am... Sasha Fierce' creator was taking a break from her relationship with Jay.
News about the book surfaced on the Internet earlier this week and the Grammy Award-winning reggae singer took to Twitter to refute the claims.
"RRR!!! THIS IS THE TWEETINATOR!!! RRR!!! SP SAY HE DON'T WRITE BOOKS. HE
WRITE SONGS!!! RRR!!! [sic]" he wrote.
A rep for Sean Paul also told Radar Online the rumors were not true. "The reports are completely false," the rep said. "Sean is not working on a book and has never had anything more than a working relationship with Beyoncé."
The business relationship the rep speaks of occurred in 2003, when the two collaborated on the Destiny's Child frontwoman's hit song 'Baby Boy.'
Sean Paul's last album, 'Imperial Blaze,' was released in 2009. He is set to headline the UCLA JazzReggae Destival, alongside Lupe Fiasco,

DJ Shine plays the fitting role of a selector on the turntables.
Directed by Dexter '3D' Pottinger, 'Certified Diva' was recently completed with scenes shot at Lindsay Crescent in Kingston.
