.....LIL WAYNE TO JOIN THE MTV UNPLUGGED HALL OF FAME........

Wayne drops on into the elite who have graced the MTV Unplugged series. MTV’s EVP of Music and Talent, Amy Doyle, explained that the decision to feature Weezy was “an amazing choice for ‘Unplugged’ as he is at hip-hop’s forefront — leading a new generation of artists whose appeal spans across music genres and playlists,” Doyle said. “Lil Wayne’s skills, influence, and catalog are a powerful addition to the legacy of artists who have rocked the ‘Unplugged’ stage.”
Not many hip-hop artists have been featured. B.O.B. was the last to do it via what I think was online version of the series in 2010. But the most memorable was the classic airing and album release of Jay-Z pairing with the Roots for their 2001 Unplugged session1. I’ve always played Jay-Z’s MTV Unplugged album more than the Blueprint I.
Either way, Lil Wayne’s MTV Unplugged airs June 12th at 9PM, coincidentally on around the week of his album Tha Carter IV gets its long awaited release.
